Don’t Throw Your Subs Out with the Bathwater!
All fruit is good fruit, nutritionally. We came up with the eight superfruit after a lot of research, and yes, they are all in a league of their own (assuming everything is true that we’d read about them) but even I cannot deny that there are tons of other great fruits out there.
Some of the best sub-superfruits, (or potential superfruit candidates) as far as I have seen are:
- WILD blueberries (a smaller berry grown in Maine and Canada only)
- Cranberries
- Hawthorn berries
- Black Currants
- Durian
- Black raspberries
- Blackberries
- Elderberry
- Concorde grape
- Niagra Grape
- Acerola cherry
- Kiwi fruit
- Ligonberry
- Lychee
- red guava
- Camu camu
- Baobab
- Mulberry
- Red Bayberry
- Billberry
- Sour Cherry (wild)
- Cupuacu
- Indian Gooseberry
- Longan
- Muscadine grape
- Papaya
- Saskatoon Berry
- Tamarind
- Yuzu (Japanese lemon)
